Bearing Model and Sealing Structure Selection for Harsh Conditions: High Temperature, Dust and Humidity

Many industrial sites are not normal-temperature and clean environments, but harsh conditions with high temperature, heavy dust, high humidity or corrosive gas. Ordinary standard bearings fail quickly in such environments, which is the most common pitfall for overseas buyers.

High Temperature Conditions

For kilns, drying equipment, heat treatment equipment and engine peripherals, high-temperature special bearings are required, equipped with high-temperature resistant grease and special tempering treatment, suitable for 120°C – 250°C. This prevents grease loss and bearing seizure caused by high temperature.

Dust Conditions

In mining, building materials, woodworking, textile and grinding workshops, dust is everywhere. Double reinforced sealed or labyrinth sealed bearings are preferred to prevent fine dust from entering the raceway. Open bearings are not recommended, as they will wear out in a short time.

Humidity / Corrosion Conditions

Water treatment equipment, outdoor marine equipment and chemical humid workshops are prone to rust and corrosion. Stainless steel bearings or anti-rust phosphating / galvanized bearings with fully sealed structure are recommended to improve corrosion and moisture resistance.

When purchasing bearings for harsh conditions, do not only focus on model and size. Sealing structure, temperature resistance, anti-rust material and grease type must be confirmed simultaneously. We can match the most suitable bearing series directly according to your on-site working conditions to reduce after-sales failure rate.
